As an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, a mother of three, a daughter, a friend and a mentor to many, I understand the challenges women face and am passionate about enabling women to live happy and healthy lives. Both in medicine and in life, I make it my mission to empower the women around me and remove the barriers that can stop us from achieving our potential.
I graduated as a RANZCOG fellow in early 2016 and, since then, have worked at the Lyell McEwin and Modbury Hospitals and am currently the head of the Gynaecology. I have been heavily involved in many state and national committees and am the current RANZCOG state chair. Until now, I have limited my private practice to gynaecology and caring for pregnant women in the public sector. Over this time, I have developed a focus on minimally invasive ( laparoscopic) surgery and work with a multidisciplinary team to optimise your recovery from severe endometriosis, multiple fibroids and heavy periods. I can also offer vNOTES hysterectomies, prolapse repairs and intrauterine procedures.
As my youngest daughter is now at school, I am excited to be expanding my private practice to Obstetrics! My move to the east has enabled this to happen as I will be offering a shared obstetric model with Dr Ellen Raghoudi and Dr Lodewyk (Ludy) Du Plessis providing back up care when needed at Burnside Hospital. This is particularly important as I am also passionate about global women’s health and travel to Namibia with Health Volunteers International (HVI) for 2 weeks every year.
As your Specialist I will work with you to uncover the best way to achieve your goals — whether that be managing your pain and periods, guiding you through your pregnancy, ensuring your birth is an empowering experience or assisting with other stages of life. We can tackle the challenges life throws your way together, then once we have those under control, you focus on making the most of all the opportunities life has to offer.
